एगो हलन साधु जी। उनकरा बड़ी संगी-साथी आव हलन। उनकर मेहररुआ बड़ी खिसिया हल। रोज-रोज साधु जी एगो-दूगो के खियावऽ हलन। सेही गुने साधु के मेहररुआ बड़ी रंज होवऽ हल। मेहररुआ बड़ी बदमास हल। एक दिन साधु के हिआं सोरह गो साधु आ गेलन । साधु जी ऊ सब सधुअन के खिलावे ला उपाय रचलन आउ कहलन कि तोर सब भाई आयल हथुन। जल्दी से खाय ला बनावऽ । तब सधुआइन तुरते खाय ला बनौलन, आउ अपन भाई जान के सब के नस्ता करौलन।

फिन सधुआइन खाना बनौलन- सोरहो प्रकार के तरकारी, आउ बासमती के भात, आउ रहर के दाल। सधुआइन साधु से कहलन कि कोई भाई अभी भेंट करे न आयल से एकाध गो के भेंट करे ला भेज दऽ। साधु जी कहलन कि एती घड़ी रात में भाई से भेंट करे लगवऽ, तो गाँव के लोग कहतथुन कि ई रात में के तो काहे ला रोइत हे। से सधुआइन कहलन कि अन्हारहीं भेंट करब।

जब साधु लोग के बीज्जे करा के खिआवल जाइत हल, तब सधुआइन दुआरी से मुँह निकाल के देखलन तो सोरह गो जटाओला साधु खा रहल हे। जटा देख के सधुआइन के लहर तरवा से कपार पर चढ़ गेल । ऊ खूब गारी बके लगलन- ''चाहे खाय खो, चाहे गाय खो !'' तब सधुअन कहलन कि ''गाय खो'' केकरा कहइत हथ । तब साधु जी कहलन कि ''तोहनी के न कहइत हे, ओकर नइहर के घोड़जई सब गाय खा गेलई हे।'' फिन साधु जी कहलन कि अपने लोग जल्दी-जल्दी खा के जाऊँ। सब साधु जल्दी-जल्दी खा के भागलन। साधु जी के सधुआइन खूब जरल-भुनल सुनौलन, आउ कहलन कि एही का तो हम्मर भाई हलन । ऊ दिन खीस में सधुआइन साधु जी के झडुआहु देलन।

There was a wandering sage. He had many friends with him. His wife was quite annoyed. Every day, the sage would feed one or two people. This very reason made his wife very unhappy. She was quite mischievous. One day, sixteen other saints arrived at the sage's place. The sage thought of a way to feed them and told his wife that all her brothers had come. "Quickly prepare food for them." So, the wife immediately started cooking to serve everyone.

Then the wife prepared food—sixteen kinds of vegetable dishes, basmati rice, and lentils. The wife told the sage, “Since some brothers haven’t arrived yet, send one or two to greet them.” The sage replied, “If you try to meet them at this hour, people in the village will wonder why you are crying at night.” So, the wife said she would greet them in the dark.

When food was being served to the saints, the wife peeked out the door and saw the sixteen matted-hair saints eating. Seeing their hair, the wife's anxiety mounted. She began to scold, "Eat whatever you want, or just eat the cows!" Then, the saints asked, “Who are you calling cows?” The sage replied, "I’m not referring to you. It’s the cows that the horses from your in-laws have eaten." Then the sage said that everyone should eat quickly and leave. All the saints hurriedly ate and left. The wife of the sage scolded him a lot, saying, “This is what my brothers are like.” That day, out of frustration, the wife also scolded the sage.
