एगो राजा रहे। ऊ एक दिन जंगल में सिकार खेले गेल। दिन भर हरान होवे पर भी एको सिकार न मिलल। राजा निरास होके लौट रहल हलन कि रास्ता में पालकी मिलल। ऊ में लगल सोलहो कहार बहुत कीमती कपड़ा पेन्हले हलन। राजा सोचलक कि ई पालकी के कहार तो अइसन सुन्नर हे, तो ई पालकी ओली केतना सुन्नर होयत? राजा ओकरा देखे के वास्ते पालकी से कुछ दूरी पर चले लगल । रजवा रात भर साथे चलल पर पालकी ओली के देख न सकलक । ऊ पालकओली रानी जब नदी में नेहाय लगल तब पालकी से नदी तक परदा लगवा देलक । जब भी पालकी से बाहर निकले तो परदा लगवा लेवे।

ई तरह राजा दिन भर पालकी के पीछे लगल रहल, बाकि ओकरा देख न सकल। आखिर राजा निरास हो गेल । पालकी ओली के देखे के जब कोई आसा न रहल, तब हार-पार के रजवा अप्पन घर के ओर चले ला मुड़ल, तो देखलक कि एगो पोटरी पलकिया पर से गिरल । रजवा घुर के ऊ पोटरिया उठा के देखलक तो ओमें हरदी, सुपारी, मोती आउ कुमकुम से रंगल थोड़ा सन चाउर हल। राजा ऊ सब के कोई मतलब न समझलक। बाकि रजवा के मन न लगे। ऊ बड़ी उदास रहे लगल । खाना-पीना छोड़ देलक । रनिया पूछे तो बोलबे न करे। आखिर रनिया के ऊ पोटरिया देके कहलक कि जब तक एकर मतलब न जानब तब तक हमरा चैन न हे। रनिया ऊ पोटरिया देख के कहलक कि ई सब के मतलब हम बता देव। अपने खा-पीअऽ। हम ई पोटरिया देवे ओली से भेंट भी करा देवो । राजा खयलक-पीलक, तब रनिया ऊ पोटरिया के मतलब बतावे लगल । रनिया कहलक कि हरदी के माने हे कि पोटरिया देवेओली हरदी नगर के रहे ओली हे । मोती के माने हे कि मोतीकुँअर ओकर नाम हे। सुपारी के मतलब है कि ओकर घर के पास सुपारी के पेड़ हे। कुमकुम से रंगल चाउर के मतलब कि ऊ तोरा चाहऽ हे । रनिया कहलक कि जब राय होय तो ओकर घरे चलल जाय ।

रजवा के ओकरा से भेंट कयले बिना चैने न पड़े। रजवा के ओकरे गाँव में ससुराली हल। मोतीकुँअर हरदी नगर के एगो सेठ के लड़की हल । ऊ बिआह न करे के ठानले हल । रजवा आउ रनियाँ हरदी नगर चललन। ओहनी दूनो नगर के बाहर एगो खंडहर में जा के डेरा दे देलन । फिनो दूनो सेठ के भेस बना के मोतीकुँअर के दूकान पर पहुँचलन । ओकर बाप हीरा- जवाहिर के दोकान करले हल । दूनो सेठ बहुत तरह के जवाहरात देखलन बाकि एक्को न पसंद कैलन । तब सेठ घरे से दोसर जवाहरात लावे गेल । तब तक मोती कुँअर जे रजवा के देखलक तो चीन्ह गेल। रजवा से रात में नगर के बाहर एगो मंदिर में मिले के बात तैय हो गेल । सेठ के एको जवाहरात पसन न भेल । सेठ बढ़िया समान मँगावे के बचन देलक । ओहनी दूनो फिनो ओही मकान में चल अयलन ।

रात में रजवा ऊ मंदिर में पहुँचल । दूनों में खूब बातचीत चलल । नगर के कोतवाल ई दूनों के मंदिर में देख लेलक । मंदिर के चारो ओर पहरा बइठा के ऊहाँ के राजा के खबर देलक कि सती माई के मंदिर में कोई मरद के साथ मोतीकुँअर हथ। ऊ राजा सुबह में मंदिर देखे ला कहलक । एन्ने ई राजा तो चारो ओर के पहरा देख के घबरा गेल। आखिर मंदिर के पिछला दरवाजा के पहरेदार के मिलौलक । कहलक कि खंडहर के मकान के पास जा के एतना कह दऽ कि ''भाई हो। केकर ऊँट खुल गेल हे! जल्दी ले आवऽ न तो पकड़ा के राजा के घर चल जयतो।'' रानी खंडहर में ई अवाज सुन के समझ गेल कि राजा पर खतरा आ गेल हे । तुरत पूजा के समान आउ नसा देल कुछ लडडू लेके ऊ मंदिर में पहुँच गेल। लेकिन मंदिर के सिपाही ओकरा रोक देलक । रनिया कहलक कि ''हम तुरत पूजा कर के आवऽ ही। ले पहिले ही परसादी !'' आउ नसा वाला लडडू ओकरा दे देलक । रनिया भीतरे जाके अपनवाली साड़ी पेन्हा के ओही रस्ते मोतीकुँअर के मंदिर से निकल भागे ला कहलक। तब तक सिपाही के नसा आ गेल हल। मोतीकुँअर मंदिर से निकल भागल। सबेरे राजा आयल तो देखऽ हे कि ओकर बेटी आउ दमाद मंदिर में सती माता के आगे विनती करइत हे। रजवा आउ रनिया कहलक कि एगो मनकामना पूरा करे ला सती माई के विनती करइत ही। राजा अप्पन बेटी दमाद के महल में ले गेल।

एन्ने ऊ कोतवाल के फाँसी के सजाय भेल। बाकि कोतवाल कहे कि हम मंदिर में मोतीकुँअर के देखली हे। जब मोतीकुँअर सती माता के जरइत दीया में अप्पन कपड़ा जलावे, आउ न जले तो, तो हमरा फाँसी देल जाय। राजा ई बात मान लेलक । मोतीकुँअर के परीक्षा के दिन तैय हो गेल । इधर रजवा आउ रनिया अप्पन पिता के घर से बिदा होके फिनो ओही खंडहर में रहे लगलन। मोतीकुँअर के परीक्षा के दिन रजवा साधु के भेस बना के मंदिर के पास डेरा डाल देलक । मोतीकुँअर के परीक्षा में जाइत समै साधु पर नजर पड़ल। ऊ साधु से आसीर्वाद ला ओकर पास में गेलक । साधु पीठ ठोक देलक । फिनो मोतीकुँअर मंदिर में जाके कहलक कि ''हे सती माई, ई साधु के छोड़ के आज तक कोई मरद से छुअइली होय, तो हम जर के राख हो जाईं !'' आउ ऊ अप्पन साड़ी दीया के ऊपर रख देलक, बाकि ओकर एक सूता भी न जरल । परीक्षा में ऊ खरा उतर गेल। कोतवाल के फाँसी हो गेल ।

कुछ दिन के बाद रजवा अउरत आउर रनिया सेनापति के भेस बना के सेठवा के घरे पहुँचल। सेठ से कहलक कि हम लड़ाई पर जाइत ही। साथे अउरत के ले जाना ठीक न हे। हमर औरत के अपने कुछ दिन अपने घर रखीं। लड़ाई से लौट के हम एकरा ले जायम । सेठ ऊ अउरत के भेस में रजवा के रख लेलक। रनिया फिनो खंडहरे में जाके रहे लगल। कुछ दिन के बाद सेठ के बड़का दमाद आयल। ऊ मोतीकुँअर के साथ रजवा के खिड़की से देखलक आउ पहचान गेल कि ई मरद हे। रजवा भी देखलक आउ सेठ के दमाद के कटार से अयसन मारलक कि ओकर नाके कट गेल। नाक कटे से सेठ के दमाद राते में लाजे भाग गेल। इधर रजवा के भी मोतीकुँअर भगा देलक। राजा फिनो आन के रनिया से सब बात कहलक तो रनिया कहकई कि तब तो सब काम बनले हवऽ।

सुबह में हल्ला भेल कि सेठ के दमाद सेनापतिया के मेहररुआ के ले भाग गेलई। दू-तीन दिन के बाद रनिया सेनापति के भेस में सेठ के पास पहुँचल आउ कहलक कि ''अपने के आसीर्वाद से लड़ाई में तो जीत के हम कुसल से तो आ गेली, अब हम्मर धरोहर के लावऽ। सेठ के तो एको बोलिए न निकले। सेठ के मनेजर सेनापतिया से सब बात कहलक तो सेनापतिया खीस से नाँचे लगल। तरवार निकाल के ऊ मारे ला तैयार हो गेल। आखिर मनेजर के समझावे से ऊ सांत होयल। सेठ आउ मनेजर मिल के सेनापतिया से मोतीकुँअर के सादी के बात सोचे के कहलक। पहिले ऊ तो तइयारे न होवऽ हल। आखिर बड़ी कहे-सुने पर ऊ तैयार भेल। मोतीकुँअर भी सादी करे ला तैयार हो गेल। झटपट सादी हो गेल । सेनापतिया तरवार से सेनूर देलक। सादी के बाद रोसगद्दी कराके घरे चलल। नगर से बाहर आके सब कहार आउ अदमी के लौटा देलक। फिनो खंडहर में आन के राजा के लेलक आउ अप्पन राज में आ गेल । अब तो रजवा-रनियाँ आउ मोतीकुँअर, सब अराम के साथ मिल-जुल के रहे लगलन ।

The king did not understand the significance of these items, but he felt restless and sad. He stopped eating and drinking. When the queen asked, he remained silent. Finally, he handed the pot to the queen and said that he would not find peace until he understood its meaning. The queen, looking at the pot, said that she would explain its significance. "You eat and drink," she said. "I will also arrange for a meeting with the person who brought this pot." With this, the king thought it over and the queen began to explain the pot's meaning. She said that the turmeric indicated the person who brought the pot was from Hardi Nagar. The pearls signified the name of Moti Kumar. The betel nut meant there was a betel palm tree near his house, and the rice colored with vermilion indicated that he desires you. The queen suggested that when it was decided, they should go to his house.

The king could not rest without meeting him. Moti Kumar was related to that village. He was the daughter of a wealthy merchant from Hardi Nagar. She had determined not to marry. The king and queen traveled to Hardi Nagar. They both made themselves look like merchants and went to Moti Kumar's shop. Her father ran a shop selling jewels. The two pretended to look at various jewels, but none caught their interest. Then the merchant went home to fetch different jewelry. By then, Moti Kumar recognized the king when she spotted him. They arranged to meet outside the city in a temple at night. The merchant was not satisfied with any of the jewelry. He promised to bring better items. They both returned to the same place.

That night, the king arrived at the temple. There was a lot of conversation between them. The town's constable noticed them in the temple. He stationed guards all around and reported to the king that Moti Kumar was with a man in the Sati Mai temple. The king decided to visit the temple in the morning. Meanwhile, the king became anxious upon seeing the surrounding guards. Finally, he met the guard at the back door of the temple and told him to inform the people near the ruins that, "Brother, someone's camel has broken loose! Hurry up and catch it or you'll be taken to the king's palace." Upon hearing this, the queen understood that the king was in danger. She quickly brought some offerings and sweets for the puja and rushed to the temple. However, the soldier stopped her. The queen said, "I will return after completing the puja. Here, take this offering first!" and handed him a sweet. The queen went inside, changed into her sari, and told Moti Kumar to flee from the temple. By then, the soldier was affected by the sweets. Moti Kumar escaped from the temple. In the morning, when the king arrived, he saw that his daughter and son-in-law were praying in front of Sati Mata.

After that, the constable was sentenced to death. However, the constable claimed that he had seen Moti Kumar in the temple. If Moti Kumar were to burn her cloth in front of Sati Mata and it did not burn, then he should be hanged. The king accepted this statement. The day for Moti Kumar's trial was set. Meanwhile, the king and queen, after leaving their father's house, returned to the ruin. On the day of Moti Kumar's trial, the king disguised himself as a sage and set up near the temple. When Moti Kumar went to her trial, she noticed the sage and approached him for blessings. The sage blessed her. Then Moti Kumar went into the temple and said, "Oh Sati Mai, if until today I have touched any man except this sage, then let me burn to ashes!" She placed her sari over the lamp, but not a single thread burned. She passed her test. The constable faced execution.

A few days later, the king and queen, disguised as the commander and the queen, reached the merchant's house. They told the merchant that they were going to war and it was not right to take the queen along. "Keep my wife at your home for a few days. After returning from the war, I will take her with me." The merchant kept the king, disguised as a queen, at his house. The queen went back to the ruins. A few days later, the merchant's elder son-in-law came. He saw the king at the window with Moti Kumar and recognized him as the king. The king also recognized him and attacked the merchant's son-in-law with a dagger, cutting off his nose. Upon losing his nose, the merchant's son-in-law fled in shame during the night. Meanwhile, the king also managed to escape with Moti Kumar. However, after the manager explained, he calmed down. The merchant and the manager asked the commander to consider Moti Kumar's marriage. At first, he was unwilling. But after much discussion, he agreed. Moti Kumar also prepared for the marriage. The wedding took place quickly. The commander blessed the couple with his sword. After the wedding, he organized a feast and brought them home. On the way out of the city, he returned all the attendants and people. Then he brought the king to the ruins and returned to his kingdom. Now the king, the queen, and Moti Kumar were all living together in peace and happiness.
