एगो अदमी एगो मैना पोसले हल । ऊ रोज घरे हर जोत के आवे, तो पहिले मैनवे के खिआवे, तब अपने खाय। एक दिन घरे आन के पहिले अपने खाय लगल, तब खेयाल पड़ल कि मैनवाँ के नऽ खिअउली हे। से जा के देखे लगल। तऽ मैनवा उहाँ हइये नऽ हल। मइया से पूछलक कि मैनवा का हो गेल? मइया कहकई कि आज रजवा के बेटवा तो आयल हलवऽ, ओही तो नऽ ले गेलवऽ हे। से ऊ तुरते गाड़ी पर चढ़ के मैनवा के खोजे निकलल।

जाइते-जाइते एगो बीच्छी मिलल। बीछिया कहलक कि ''ए मन्नु भाई, ए मन्नु भाई, हमरो गड़िया पर ले ले चलवऽ?'’ से मन्नु भाई ओकरा गाड़ी पर चढ़ा लेलक आउ बड़ी खुसी में गाना गावइत चलल-
सींक के मोरा गाड़ी रे गाड़ी, मध लादले जातु हैं। राजा मोरा मैना के ले भागल, ओकरे खोज में जातु हैं।

आगे जाइत-जाइत ओकरा एगो गोबर के चोता मिलल। ऊ कहकई कि ''ए मन्नु भाई, ए मन्नु भाई! हमरो गड़िया पर चढ़ा लेवऽ?'’ सुन के मन्नु ओकरो गाड़ी पर चढ़ा लेलक आउ गावे लगल -
सींक के मोरा गाड़ी रे गाड़ी, मध लादले जातु हैं। राजा मोरा मैना के ले भागल, ओकरे खोज में जातु हैं।

जाइते-जाइते ओकरा एगो सूई मिलल। सूइया भी कहलक कि ''ए मन्नु भाई, ए मन्नु भाई, हमरो बइठा लेबऽ?'’ मन्नु कहलक कि ''आवऽ बइठऽ!'' सूइया बइठ गेल। मन्नु फिनों गावइत आगे बढ़ल, तऽ रस्ता में एगो सलाई मिलल। सलइया भी कहकई कि ''ए मन्नु भाई, ए मन्नु भाई, हमरो गड़िया पर बइठयबऽ?'’ आउ ओहू गाड़ी पर जा के बइठ गेल। मन्नु भाई फिनों गाना गावे लगल- सींक के मोरा गाड़ी रे गाड़ी, मध लादले जातु हैं। राजा मोरा मैना के ले भागल, ओकरे खोज में जातु हैं।

जाइते-जाइते ऊ राजा के इहाँ पहुँच गेल। राजा अप्पन बेटा के साथे खाइत हलन, आउ मैना दीरखा पर रखल हल। उहाँ जा के ऊ मैना के ले लेलक, आउ बीच्छी ओहिजा रख देलक। चौखट पर सूई गाड़ देलक, दरवाजा पर गोबर रख देलक, घरे में आग लगा देलक। आउ गाड़ी पर चढ़ के चल देलक। मैना के साथे ऊ गाड़ी पर बइठल खुसी में अप्पन घरे चल आयल।

एन्ने राजा अप्पन अदमी से कहलन कि दूरा पर गोबर के चोता हे, से जो उठा लावऽ। ऊ गोबर के चोता उठावे गेल, तो दरवाजा पर के सूई ओकर गोड़े में गड़ गेल। ओने देखलक कि आग लगल हे! तो राजा के बेटा मैनवा ला दउड़ल, तो दीरखा पर बीच्छी ओकरा डँस लेलक। भागवो नऽ कयेल, आउ आग तो लगल हइये हल, से सब बेकती ओकरे में जर के मर गेलन। कथा गेलवऽ वन में, समझऽ अप्पन मन में!

Once a man kept a myna. He would come home every day, feed the myna first, and then eat himself. One day, before coming home, he started eating, and then remembered that he hadn't fed the myna. So, he went to check, but the myna wasn't there. He asked his mother what had happened to the myna. His mother replied that today the king's son had come, and he must have taken it away. So he immediately got on a vehicle and set out to search for the myna.

On his way, he met a lizard. The lizard said, "Hey Mannu Bhai, hey Mannu Bhai, could you take me on your vehicle as well?" Mannu Bhai took the lizard onto his vehicle and happily started singing:

“O my vehicle, laden with honey,
The king has taken my myna,
I am on my way to search for it.”

As he continued, he encountered a cow pat. It also said, "Hey Mannu Bhai, hey Mannu Bhai, could you take me on your vehicle as well?" Hearing this, Mannu again took it on board and continued singing:

“O my vehicle, laden with honey,
The king has taken my myna,
I am on my way to search for it.”

As he moved forward, he found a needle. The needle also said, "Hey Mannu Bhai, hey Mannu Bhai, could you let me sit as well?" Mannu responded, "Come, sit!" The needle sat down. Mannu was singing again and then he stumbled upon a matchstick. The matchstick also asked, "Hey Mannu Bhai, hey Mannu Bhai, can I sit on your vehicle too?" and joined the others on the vehicle. Mannu continued to sing:

“O my vehicle, laden with honey,
The king has taken my myna,
I am on my way to search for it.”

Eventually, he reached the king's place. The king was eating with his son, and the myna was kept on a perch. Upon reaching there, he took the myna and left the lizard there. He stuck the needle in the doorframe, left the cow pat at the entrance, and set fire to the house. Then he got on his vehicle and departed. Joyfully, he returned home with the myna sitting beside him.

Meanwhile, the king told his men to pick up the cow pat. As they went to collect it, the needle pricked one of the men in the leg. Then they noticed that there was fire! The king's son ran towards the myna, but the lizard bit him. Unable to escape, and with the house ablaze, everyone inside burned to death. The story ends here; understand this in your heart!
