The story centers around a crab and a tiger, highlighting themes of conflict, resilience, and cleverness. The crab, whose home is repeatedly destroyed by the tiger, confronts the tiger but is initially misunderstood by its mother. When the tiger attempts to destroy the crab's house again, the crab fights back, injuring the tiger and forcing it to plead for mercy. The crab agrees to spare the tiger if it enters the water. Meanwhile, a shepherd witnesses the attack and is threatened by the tiger to keep quiet. The shepherd, despite his fear, shares the story with his mother, but they don't believe him. When the tiger confronts the shepherd later, the frightened shepherd cleverly lies about having crab bread to escape being eaten. Ultimately, the tiger flees, and the shepherd returns home safely, showing that cunning can triumph over brute strength.

Once, a crab built its house by the water's edge. A tiger would come daily to drink water and would destroy its house. One day, the crab went to warn the tiger, saying, "Hey, uncle tiger, your son comes to my house every day and destroys it. That's not a good thing, there will surely be a fight one day!" When the crab returned home, its mother ran out and said, "You must have destroyed the crab's house. That's why you are so upset today!" Hearing this, the tiger went to demolish the crab's house again. The crab was hiding in its own home. As soon as the tiger started to break it down, the crab quickly shoved a claw into the tiger's nose and began to bite it. Now the tiger was writhing, crying, falling, and pleading, "Oh crab brother, let me go, I won't destroy it anymore!" The crab replied, "Let's go into the water, then I'll let you go once you are submerged!" So, while struggling, the tiger went into the water and submerged its snout. The crab swam away, and the tiger ran off into the jungle.

There was a shepherd who saw the tiger attacking the crab. The tiger asked, "Hey shepherd, did you see anything?" He replied, "No, tiger brother! I didn't see anything." The tiger said, "That crab gave me quite a beating. See, if you tell anyone, I will eat you!" In the evening, the shepherd returned home. Upon reaching home, he danced in the yard and exclaimed, "Mother, Mother! I saw something!" The tiger also followed him and sat behind his house, listening to everything the shepherd said.

The shepherd’s mother asked, "What did you see, tell me!" The shepherd started to shout, "Mother, the crab really beat the tiger!" But his parents didn’t believe him. Early in the morning, the tiger ran away from behind the house in the dark. The shepherd took his goat to graze in the jungle. He encountered the tiger in the jungle. The tiger asked the shepherd, "Hey shepherd, did you tell anyone?" The shepherd said, "No, tiger brother!" The tiger replied, "Yes, I know you told your mother and father; I heard everything from behind your house, so today I won't spare you without eating!"

Just then, out of fear, the shepherd's stomach growled. The tiger heard it and asked, "What did you eat?" The shepherd replied, "Oh tiger brother, I had a crab bread! The crab is coming out, so just wait a bit, let me take it out, then I'll eat!" Hearing this, the tiger said, "Hold on, let me escape first, then I'll come out!" The tiger quickly ran away, and the shepherd also went back home.
