एगो राजा के चार बेटी हलन। एक दिन राजा बेटी से पूछलन कि तोहनी केकर राज से राज करइत हें? बड़की तीनों कहलन कि हम तोहर राज से राज करइत ही, बाकि छोटकी बोलल कि हम तो अप्पन राज से राज करइत ही। ई सुन के राजा बड़की तीनो के राज-रजवाड़ा हीं बिआह देलन, आउ छोटकी के जंगल में निकाल देलन। छोटकी बेटी भुलाइत-भुलाइत एगो झोपड़ी में चल गेल। उहाँ भगवान डोम के भेस में रहऽ हलन। लड़की उनके से सब दुख सुनौलक, आउ उनकरा साथे रहे लगल।
ढेर दिन के बाद माय अप्पन बेटी के खोजे ला जंगल में बेटा के भेजलक। बेटा खोजइत-खोजइत ओही झोपड़ी भीर गेल, आउ घोड़ा से उतर के बहिनी के नजीक गेल। मिल के ओकरा बड़ी खुसी होयल। ऊ ओकरा घरे चले कहलक तो बहिनी नऽ तइयार भेल। जाइत खानी राजा के बेटा पूछलक कि तोहनी एहिजा से कनहूँ जयबऽ तो नऽ नऽ? ई कह के ऊ घरे चल गेल, आउ माय से सब खिस्सा कह सुनौलक। कुछ दिना के बाद फिनो माय बेटा के बेटी भीरु भेजलक। बेटा उहाँ पहुँचल तो ओहनी के नऽ पयलक। ऊ आगे बढ़ल तो जइते-जइते एगो नदी मिलल। ओकरा ऊ पार कयलक तो एगो खूब बढ़िया बगइचा मिलल। ओही बगइचा में भगवान् जी के साथ ओकर बहिनी रहऽ हल। राजकुमार बड़ के पेड़ में घोड़ा बान्ह देलक, आउ कहलक कि ''ए बड़ए तूं फाटऽ!'’ बड़वा फट गेल आउ ऊ बगईचा में प्रवेस कर गेल। बहिनी से ऊ भेंट कयलक आउ दू-चार दिन उहाँ रहलक, तो ओकरा सब हाल मालूम हो गेल। एक दिन ऊ कहलक कि ''हमरा भगवान जी से भेंट करा के बगइचा घुमवा दऽ!''
भगवान जी के साथे राजा के बेटा बगइचा घूमे गेल, तो एगो अदमी के लाठा चलावइत देखलक, बाकि ऊ पिआसे छटपटाइत हल। राजा के बेटवा पूछलक कि अइसन काहे हे? भगवान् जी कहलथिन कि ई ऊ जलम में पाप कयलक हे। ऊ कहलक कि एकरा माफ कर दिहीं। भगवान जी ओकरा माफ कर देलन। आगे ऊ एगो के छाती पर पत्थल रखल देखलक। ऊ छटपटाइत हल। ओकरो भगवान जी से माफ करौलक। आउर आगे जा के देखलक कि एगो बिल हे, बाकि ओकरा में घुसे ला चूहा छटपटाइत हे। ऊ ओकरो माफ करौलक।
फिनो आगे जाइत-जाइत तीन गो कोठरी देखलक। ओमें दू गो तो बड़ी सुन्नर हले, बाकि एगो में मच्छी भिनभिनाइत हले। राजा के बेटा पूछलक कि अइसन काहे हे? भगवान जी कहलन कि ई जे सुन्नर कोठरी हे, से तोर माय-बहिन ला हे, आउ जेकरा में मच्छी भिनभिनाइत हे, ऊ तोर बाबू जी ला हे। राजा के बेटा पूछलक कि अइसन काहे हे? भगवान कहलन कि तोर बाबू जी बड़ी पापिस्टी हथुन। ऊ कुँआर लड़की के जंगल में निकाल देलन हे। ऊ मरतन तो इहाँ अयला पर एही कोठरी मिलत। राजा के बेटा पूछलन कि ई पाप कइसे कटत? भगवान् कहलन कि तूं जा के बाबू जी से कहिहँऽ कि सब तीरथ करके ब्राह्मन के खिलौथुन, आउ सबके भात में से एक-एक चाउर निकाल के अपने खा जैथुन। राजा अइसने कयलन, आउ परचोवा लेवे ला उनकर बेटा फिनो उहाँ गेलक तो कुछो न देखलक। तब ऊ समझ गेलक, कि ई सब ओही भगवान के लीला हे।
Once upon a time, a king had four daughters. One day, the king asked his daughters whom they ruled over. The eldest three daughters said that they ruled over his kingdom, but the youngest said that she ruled over her own kingdom. Hearing this, the king betrothed the three elder daughters in marriage and expelled the youngest to the forest. The youngest daughter, wandering here and there, eventually reached a hut. There, Lord Doman was residing in disguise. The girl told him all her troubles and started staying with him.
After many days, her mother sent her son into the forest to search for his sister. The son, searching for her, reached that very hut and dismounted from his horse to approach his sister. They found each other and were very happy. The sister asked her brother to come home, but he prepared to go back. Before leaving, he asked his mother if he could visit the palace. She agreed, and he told her everything. After some days, his mother again sent her son, this time with a daughter. When he reached there, he couldn’t find his daughter. Continuing on his way, he came to a river. He crossed it and found a beautiful garden.
In that garden, his sister was living with Lord God himself. The prince tethered his horse to a tree and said, "Oh, you grow strong like a mighty tree!" The big tree split open and entered the garden. He met his sister and stayed there for a few days, during which he learned everything. One day, he said, "Let me meet Lord God and see the garden!"
The king’s son went to walk in the garden with Lord God. He saw a man beating a broom but was himself very thirsty and restless. The prince asked why this was so. Lord God explained that the man was punished for his sins in the water. The prince begged for his forgiveness, and Lord God forgave him. Further along, he saw someone holding a stone against his chest, struggling and restless. He also asked for that person's forgiveness from Lord God. Then he saw a pit, and inside it, a mouse was scratching to get in. He forgave that mouse too.
Continuing to walk further, he saw three rooms. Two of these rooms were very beautiful, but one was filled with buzzing fish. The prince asked why that was so. Lord God explained that the beautiful rooms belonged to his mother and sister, while the room with buzzing fish belonged to his father. The prince asked why this was the case. Lord God said that his father was very sinful. He had expelled a maiden into the forest. The maiden came here and stayed in that room. When her death came, she was seen in that room. The prince asked how such sins could be excused. Lord God told him to go and tell his father to perform all kinds of pilgrimages and to distribute food to Brahmins, taking one grain of rice from each person's meal and eating it himself. The prince did so, but when he returned to take the offerings, he saw nothing. Then he realized that all this was Lord God’s divine play.
