The story revolves around a king with seven sons who set off to find jobs. The youngest son, who is blind in one eye, ends up being the sole survivor after a series of tragic incidents befall his brothers. As they explore, they are lured by a palace and fall into a pit, drown while attempting to reach a girl bathing in a river, and are ultimately killed by fighting bulls. Upon returning home, the blind son recounts the events, revealing the deaths of his brothers one by one. His father is saddened but also incredulous, leading to a moment of reflection on the son's perceived foolishness due to his blindness. The moral implies that those who are physically impaired might be misunderstood or underestimated.
Once upon a time, there was a king with seven sons. When they grew up and were ready, they set out in search of jobs. The youngest son was blind in one eye and was not easily swayed by anyone. As they traveled, they came across a beautiful palace. The brothers were tempted, thinking that it must be filled with treasures since it looked so dazzling from the outside! So, they attempted to sneak in, but fell into a pit and two of them died there.
Then, they continued on and found a river. A beautiful girl was bathing in it. Seeing her, two of the brothers jumped into the river in a rush, but since they couldn't swim, they drowned. Three brothers moved ahead and encountered two fighting bulls. The bulls charged, and two brothers got caught in their melee and died right there. Only the blind son survived and returned home.
Upon his return, the king asked, "Tell me, son, what happened in the world?" The blind son replied, "Two died due to the pit." The father was saddened and exclaimed, "Oh!" The son continued, "Two drowned in the river." The king thought he was joking and said, "Is that so?" The blind son replied again, "Two were killed by the bulls." To this, the king said, "Really!" The blind son quickly responded, "I am just a blind child!" The king fell silent upon hearing this, astonished at how such a foolish son was born to him. It is rightly said, "The blind, the lame, the crooked—rarely do good people come from such!"
