The story follows Jugeendar, a young man who, after the death of his wealthy father, seeks to start a business with money borrowed from his mother. He buys a dog and a cat, which eventually lead him to a series of adventures. The cat and dog steal a valuable red item from a king, which Jugeendar's mother soon praises him for. He then buys a parrot and a king cobra. The cobra, grateful to Jugeendar for freeing him from captivity, gives him a magical ring that grants wishes. With the ring, Jugeendar builds a grand palace and, after being imprisoned by the king for his supposed magic, uses the ring’s power to bring the king’s daughter and the coachman to him. This act impresses the king, who ultimately makes Jugeendar the ruler of the kingdom, allowing him to live in peace and prosperity.

एगो साव जी हलन । उनका एगो बेटा हल । ओकर नाम जुगेन्दर हल । ओकर बाप बचपने में मर गेल, तो माय पिसौना-कुटौना कर के ओकरा पाललन-पोसलन । जब जुगेन्दर सेआन हो गेलक, तो माय से कहलक कि हमरा कुछ रुपेया दे, हम बेपार करम। माय एगो धनी अदमी से एक हजार रुपेया आंन के बेटा के दे देलक। जुगेन्दर रोपेया ले के मेला पहुँचल । घूमते-घामते ऊ कुत्ता के बजार में पहुँचल आउ तीन सौ रोपेया में एगो बढ़िया कुत्ता खरीद लेलक। फिनो जुगेन्दर बिलाई के बजार में गेल आउ बिलाई के मोल-जोल करके ढाई सौ रोपेया में एगो बिलाई खरीद लेलक ।

कुत्ता आउ बिलाई ले के जुगेन्दर घरे आ गेल। माय ई देख के खिसिआयल आउ कहलक कि तूं बेकार में पइसा फेंक देलऽ । बेटा कहलक कि ई घड़ी खीस करे के बेरा नऽ हेअऽ । एकर फल बाद में मिलत। ई सुन के माय चुप हो गेल। कुत्ता-बिलाई पोसाय लगल । एक दिन बिलाई आउ कुत्ता दोसर गाँव में चल गेल । ऊ गाँव के राजा के पास एगो लाल हल । ऊ लाल के अप्पन मुँह में ले के सूतऽ हलऽ । बिलाई राजा के घरे में गेल आउ ओकर पलंग के तरे बइठ गेल । उहाँ एगो बिल में बड़का चूहा रहऽ हल। बिलाई चूहा के देख के कहलक कि इयार हमरा नजीक आवऽ । दूनों में दोस्ती हो गेल, तब चूहा आयल । बिलाई कहलक कि तूं अप्पन बंड पोंछी राजा के नाक में घुसा दऽ आउ राजा छींक देतन तो उनकर मुँह से लाल फेंका जायत। हम लेके भाग जायम, आउ तूं उहईं अराम से रहिहँऽ । ई सुन चूहा राजा के पलंग पर चल गेल आउ अप्पन बंड पोंछी राजा के नाक में समा देलक । राजा चेहा के उठलन आउ छींक देलन । उनका छींकते मुँह से लाल फेंका गेल आउ बिलाई लाल लेके भाग गेल । बाहर आन के कुत्ता-बिलाई लाल ले चले ला आपस में लड़े लगलन तो बिलाई कुत्ता के डर से ओकरे दे देलक। कुत्ता लाल ले के चलल जाइत हल कि गाँव के बाहर के एगो गनउरा के ढूह पर भैंस के खेड़ी फेंकल देखलक। ओकरा खाय ला मुँह खोललक तो लाल गिरके भुला गेल ।

बिलइया आग लान के गनौरा में लगा देलक आउ खेर-पुआर जर गेल, तो लाल मिलल। अबरी बिलइया लाल लेके चलल । जुगेन्दर माय-बेटा अंगना में खाइत हलन कि बिलाई आन के मुँह में से लाल उगिललक। लाल देख के माय बड़ी खुस भेल, आउ कहलक कि ''बेटा, तूं बड़ी बढ़िया काम कयल हले। तोर पइसा बेकार में न गेलउ।''

फिनो जुगेन्दर माय से कहलक कि कुतवा के बंधिक रख के रोपेया लान दे। माय राजा हीं जाके कुत्ता के बंधिक रख देलक, आउ एक हजार रोपेया लौलक । आन के बेटा के दे देलक । बेटा रोपेया लेके मेला में गेल । उहाँ बड़ी किसिम के चिड़िया बिकइत देखलक । ओकरा में एगो सुग्गा के दाम पूछलक आउ रोपेया दे के ओकरा खरीद लेलक। आगे बढ़ल, तो एगो साँप बिकइत देखलक । ओकरो में से एगो महानाग के बच्चा खरीद लेलक आउ दूनो के लेके घरे चलल । घरे आयल तो मतारी पूछलथिन कि अबरी का खरीदलऽ हे । ऊ कहलक कि एगो सुग्गा आउ एगो महानाग लइली हे। तो माय कहलन कि ''तू काहे खरीद लवल हे। जेकरा काटतई, ऊ मर जायत आउ हमरो बाँधा देवऽ!'' 'एकर फल पीछे मिलतउ' कह के जुगेन्दर ओहनी के पाले-पोसे लगल।

महानाग जब सेआन हो गेल, तब कहलक कि ''भइया, हमरा बड़ा भलाई कयलऽ । हमरा नट फँसा के ले गेल हल । अब हमरा माय-बाप भीरू टिल्हा के घर में पहुँचा दऽ। ऊ जे देथुन ऊ न ले के खाली एगो अँगूठी ले लिहँऽ। ओकर गुन हे कि सवा हाथ लीप के ओकरा से जे तूं माँगबऽ, ओही दे देतवऽ !'’ जुगेन्दर महानाग के टिल्हा भीरू पहुँचा देलक । ऊ बिल में घुस गेल तो ओकर माय-बाप ओकरा देख के बड़ी खुस भेलन आउ हाल पूछलन, तो महानाग अप्पन पर बीतल सब हाल सुना देलक । ऊ कहलक कि हमरा बचावेओला दूरा पर खड़ा हेे, ओकरा जाके सोआगत करऽ। ई सुन के नाग-नागिन दरवाजा पर अयलन, आउ हाथ जोड़ के बोललन कि ''महाराज, अपने जे चाहइत ही से कहूँ । अन्न-धन, रोपेया-पइसा, दरब-खरब जे चाहइत ही से कहूँ, सब हम देवे ला तइयार ही।'' जुगेन्दर कहलक कि हमरा ई सब से कोई काम नऽ हे। दूनो कहलन कि तइयो हमनी से कुछ माँगे पड़तवऽ । तऽ जुगेन्दर कहलक कि हमरा खाली नाग के अँगूठी दे दिहीं। अंत में ओहनी मन मसोस के अँगूठी दे देलन, आउ कहलन कि गाढ़ समय में हमरा पुकरिहँऽ तो हम चल आयम।

साँझ के जुगेन्दर घरे चल अयलक, आउ सवा हाथ जमीन लीप के अँगूठी से कहलक कि ''हे नाग के अँगूठी, एगो सतमहला मकान बन जाय।'' आउ तुरते हुआँ सतमहला मकान बन गेल । गाँव के लोग देख के बड़ी अचम्भा में पड़लन । सगरो हल्ला हो गेल कि साव के लइका जब से महानाग के पहुँचा के आयल हे, तब से धन के कोई सुमार न हे । इहाँ के बात इहँई।

ओने जुगेन्दर के कुत्ता राजा महाजन के यहाँ बंधिक पर रखल हल। एक दफे राजा हीं चोरी हो गेल । कुत्ता राजा के गोड़ पर लोटे लगल आउ दउड़ के पोखरा भीरू जाय, जहाँ चोर सब धन चोरा के रखले हल । ई तरह कुत्ता आवे- जाय तो राजा कुत्ता के साथ पोखरा पर गेलन । देखलन कि कुत्ता पोखरा में डुबकी लगावइत हे। राजा समझ गेलन कि चोरी के माल पोखरा में डाल हेऽ। अन्हारे बेरिया नोकर चाकर के साथ जाके पोखरा से सब माल निकलवैलन। कुत्‍ता के ई काम से खुश होके राजा एगो चिट्ठी लिखलन कि ''अमुक के हम जे माल देली हल, से पा गेली।'' ई लिख के ओकर गला में बाँध देलन, आउ कुत्ता के जुगेन्दर के घरे भेज देलन। रस्‍ते में कुत्ता जुगेन्दर के मिलल, तो एकरा निमकहराम समझ के ऊ मारे लगलक। मारे से कुत्‍त मर गेल, तो चिट्ठी पर नजर पड़ल। चिठ्ठी पढ़ के ओकरा बड़ी अफसोस भेल । ऊ राजा के पास गेल, आउ कहलक कि अप्पन माल लेऽ लिहीं। राजा कहलन कि हम तोर कुत्ता से अपन माल से जादही पा गेली हे, आउ कुत्ता के भेज देली हे । का ऊ अभी उहाँ न गेल हे? जुगेन्‍दर कहलक कि ''हुजूर, हमहीं कुत्ता के निमकहराम समझ के मार देली हे। अपने के चिट्टी पर नजर पड़ल तो काफी दुःख भेलऽ । राजा के भी ई सुन के दुख भेल। जुगेन्दर जब रुपया लौटावल चाहलक, तो राजा न लेलन। अंत में राजा के समझौला पर जुगेन्दर घरे लौट आयल आउ रहे लगल।

अब आगे सुनऽ । एगो देस के राजा अप्पन बेटी के सादी ला ढोल पिटौलक कि ''जे दुनिया-बाहर सत-महला महल बना देत ओकरे से हम सादी करम।'' देस-विदेस के राजा आन के महल बनावे के कोरसिस करलन, बाकि महल न बनल । तो जुगेन्दर अप्पन नाग के अँगूठी से सवा हाथ लीप के कहलक कि ''हे नाग के अँगूठी! दुनिया-बाहर सतमहला महल बन जाय !'' ओयसन सतमहला महल बन के तइयार हो गेल। ओकरा में बाबन गली तिरपन बजार हल । राजा अप्पन लड़की के सादी जुगेन्दर से कर देलन । ऊ लड़किया एगो गड़िवान से फँसल हल। से एक दिन नाग के अँगूठी के मदद से ऊ गड़िवनवा के साथे महल के उड़ा के सात समुन्दर गंडक पार ले गेल। दूनो उहई अराम से रहे लगल।

एन्ने राजा जुगेन्दर के जेल में बंद कर देलक कि तू जादू करले हें। जुगेन्दर नाग के सुमिरलक । नाग सुग्गा के लेले आ पहुँचल, आउ दूनो सात समुन्दर गंडक पार गेलन। सुग्गा उहाँ से नाग के अँगूठी लेके उड़ आयल । जुगेन्दर अँगूठी लेके राजा के पास खबर देलक कि हम अपने के बेटी आउ गाड़ीवान सहित महल में मँगा देइत ही। सवा हाथ जमीन लीप के नाग के अँगूठी से ऊ महल इहाँ चल आवे ला कहलक। तुरत राजकुमारी आउ गाड़ीवान के साथ महल इहाँ आ गेल। अब तो राजा ओहनी के देख के दूनो के गड़हारा भरा देलन आउ जुगेन्दर के राज-पाट देके निहिचन्त होकर अराम के साथ रहे लगलन।

Once upon a time, there was a young man named Jugeendar, who was the son of a wealthy man. His father passed away in his childhood, and his mother raised him by grinding and cooking. As Jugeendar grew up, he asked his mother for some money to start a business. His mother borrowed a thousand rupees from a rich man and gave it to him. Jugeendar went to the fair with the money. While wandering around, he came across a dog market and bought a good dog for three hundred rupees. Then he went to the cat market and negotiated to buy a cat for two hundred and fifty rupees.

After bringing the dog and cat home, his mother was upset and told him that he was wasting money. Jugeendar replied that it wasn't the right time to be angry and that the results would come later. After hearing this, his mother remained quiet, and they began to take care of the dog and cat. One day, the cat and dog wandered off to another village. In that village, there was a king who owned a valuable red item. The cat saw the red item and sat next to the king's bed. There was a big rat in the hole nearby. The cat called the rat to come closer. They became friends, and when the rat came, the cat told him to take his tail and shove it into the king's nose. When the king sneezed, the red item would fly out of his mouth, and they would take it away, while the rat could stay there comfortably. After hearing this, the rat went to the king's bed and shoved his tail into the king's nose. The king woke up and sneezed, causing the red item to fly out of his mouth, and the cat ran off with it.

After bringing the red item outside, the dog and cat began to fight over it, and the cat, scared of the dog, gave it up. As the dog was leaving with the red item, he noticed a buffalo carcass by a heap of sand outside the village. He opened his mouth to eat it, and in that moment, the red item fell and was forgotten.

The cat then set fire to the heap and when things burned down, it found the red item. The cat took the red item and returned home. While Jugeendar and his mother were eating in the courtyard, the cat coughed up the red item. Seeing the item, the mother was very happy and said, “Son, you did a great job. Your money was not wasted.”

Then Jugeendar asked his mother to keep the dog tied up and give him the money. His mother took the dog to the king and received one thousand rupees in return, which she gave to her son. With the money, Jugeendar went to the fair. There he saw many kinds of birds for sale. He inquired about the price of a parrot and bought it. Further along, he saw a snake for sale and bought a young king cobra as well, taking both home. When he got home, his mother asked him what he had bought. He told her he had brought a parrot and a king cobra. She scolded him, saying, “Why did you buy them? Whoever gets bitten dies and I will be in trouble too!” Jugeendar reassured her that the results would come later.

When the king cobra grew up, it said to Jugeendar, “Brother, you have done me a great favor. I was captured by a circus performer. Now take me to my parents at the rat’s house; just take a ring with you. The ring has the virtue that by saying whatever you want while holding it, it will be granted!” Jugeendar took the king cobra to the rat's house. The cobra entered the hole, and upon seeing him, his parents were very happy and asked about his situation. The cobra recounted everything that had happened to him and remarked that the one who helped him was standing outside, and he should be welcomed. Hearing this, the snake and its mate approached the door, joined their hands, and said, “O King, whatever you wish, we will give you anything you desire—grains, money, whatever you want!” Jugeendar replied that he did not need any of that, but he only wanted the snake’s ring. In the end, they reluctantly gave him the ring and said that when the time comes, they would come to help him.

That evening, Jugeendar returned home and, with the ring, he declared, “O ring of the cobra, let a seven-story palace be built!” And just like that, a seven-story palace was constructed, leaving everyone in the village astonished. The news spread that since Jugeendar had brought the cobra, there was no shortage of wealth.

Meanwhile, the king had imprisoned Jugeendar for practicing magic. Jugeendar remembered the cobra. The cobra brought along the parrot and both crossed the seven oceans. The parrot flew and retrieved the ring from the cobra. Jugeendar took the ring and notified the king, saying, “I will bring your daughter and the coachman to the palace.” With his command, he swept the ground with the ring, calling the palace to come here. Immediately, the princess and the coachman came to the palace. Now, the king satisfied their hearts and joined them, giving Jugeendar the rule of the kingdom, and thus he began to live in peace.
