एक दफे एगो धुनिया आउ लोहार लड़ गेलन । लड़ के दूनो फैसला करावे ला राजा भिरू गेलन । राजा लड़े के कारण पूछलन, तो धुनिया कहलक कि हम ओकरा से जादे जानऽ ही । लोहार कहलक कि हम धुनिया से ज्यादा इलमदार ही। राजा कहलन कि तोहनी अपन-अपन इलम देखावऽ । लोहरा कहलक कि एक मन लोहा हमरा चाहीं। धुनिया कहलक कि हमरा एक मन रूआ चाहीं । दूनो लेके आठ दिन में अपन-अपन इलम देखावे ला कहलन । लोहरा एगो मछरी बनौलक आउ धुनिया एगो घोड़ा बनौलक । धुनिया अइसन कल-पुर्जा ठीक कैलक कि घोड़ा असमान में उड़े। ऊ ओकर तीन कलपुर्जा बनौलक हल । पहला से उड़े, दूसरा से कहे पर ठहरे आउ तीसरा कल से जमीन पर उतरे लगे।

दूनो अपन.अपन समान लेके राजा के दरबार में गेलन । लोहरा कहलक कि हमरा एक मन लावा चाहीं । एक मन लावा आयल आउ छींट देवल गेल । लोहरा पूरुब भर से मछरी छोड़ देलक तऽ ऊ सब लावा बीन के खा गेलक । तब धुनिया अपन घोड़ा लवलक बाकि कोई अदमी घोड़ा पर चढ़े ला तइयारे नऽ होवे । से राजा के लड़का घोड़ा पर चढे ला तइयार होयलन। उनका धुनियवा ओकर सब कल पुरजा बता देलक। एकरा बाद राजा एहनी दूनों के हथकड़ी पेन्हा के बन्द कर देलन कि जब तक हमर बेटा घूम के नऽ आ जायत, तब तक तोहनी के नऽ छोड़वउ । राजा के लड़का घोड़ा उड़ा के चललन त ऊ उड़ के दोसर देस में चल गेलन। बीच में एगो दरिआव हल। रास्ता में जाइत खानी एगो राजा के लड़की के ओकरा पर नजर परल, ओके देख के ऊ मोहित हो गेल । ऊ अप्पन दाई से कहलक कि हमर बापजान से कह दे कि ऊ मोसाफिर के बोला देथ । दाई जाके राजा से कहलक आउ राजा सिपाही के हुकुम देलक । सिपाही रहगीर के पकड़ लौलक । राजा के पूछे पर राजा के बेटा बतौलन कि हमरा अभी सादी नऽ भेल हे । से राजा अपन बेटी के सादी ओकरे साथ कर देलक । ऊ उहईं रहे लगलन।

दु-चार बरस के बाद उनकर एगो लड़का भेल। ओकरा बाद फिनो एगो पेट में भी रहल तो राजा के दमाद कहलन कि हमरा रोसगद्दी कर दीहीं। रोसगद्दी हो गेल आउ ओही घोड़ा पर तीनों आदमी सवार होके दरिआव के किनारे अयलन, तो रानी के तकलीफ होवे लगल । घोड़ा जमीन में उतारलन तो उहईं रानी के एगो आउ लड़का भेल । घोड़ा पर चढ़ के राजा डागरिन बोलावे अप्पन राज में गेलन तो उहईं बीड़ी धरावे लगलन ते रूआ के घोड़ा में आग लग गेल। घोड़ा जर गेल तो दरिआव पार कर के रानी भिरू जाय ला मोसकिल हो गेल । से ऊ न अयलन आउ अपन घरे लौट गेलन। धुनिया आउ लोहार छोड़ देवल गेल ।

उहाँ दरिआव किनारे बड़का लड़का भूखे रोवे लगल, तो ओकर माय कहलक कि एगो नाव आवइत हे, ओकरे से खाय ला मँगा देवउ । नावओला आयल तो खायला मँगला पर खाली राजा के बेटिया के नाव पर चढ़ा के ले ले चल गेल। ओकरा बाद दूनो लइकन भूखे रोइत रहे। से अहीर के एगो गाय रोज आन के खड़ा हो जाय आउ लइकन ओकर दूध पी लेथ । ई तरह गाय रोज आन के दूध पीया जाय। अहिरा एक दिन सोचलक कि गइया साँझ के दूध काहे न करऽ हे। से ऊ एक दिन ओकरे साथ चलल । ऊ देखइत हे कि ऊ जाके दूनो लइकन भिरू खड़ा हो गेल आउ दूनो लइकवन दूध पीये लगलन। अहिरा दूनो के कान्हा पर चढ़ा के घरे ले-ले आयल। ऊ दूनों के खिलावे-पिलावे आठ पढ़ावे लगल ।

जब ओहनी सेयान हो गेलन तो ओहनी दूनों भाई कहलन कि हमनी नोकरी ला जाइत हिवऽ । कमबवऽ तऽ भेजबवऽ । अहिरा दूनो के नऽ जाय देवे कि ई सब सेयान हो गेलन हे, से अप्पन घरे चल जयतन । तइयो ओहनी एक दिन उहाँ से बरियारी चल देलन। ओहनी अप्पन बाप के राज में चल अयलन । अनजाने में जाके कहलन कि सरकार हमनी के कुछ नोकरी देल जाय कि कमाई खाईं। ओहनी राजा हीं नोकरी करे लगलन।

एक दिन राजा हीं ठाकुर जी के पूजा हल । राजा सगरो नेवता भेजलन हल । ऊ नावओला मल्लहवन भी राजा के गाँव में आन के ठहरलन। दूनो लड़कवन के ओही नाव पर पहरा देवे ला बइठा देल गेल। मल्लाह सब राजा हीं कथा सुने चल गेलन बाकि राजा के बेटिया ओही नावे में रह गेल। ओखनी नऽ जानऽ हलन कि एकरा में आउ कोई हे। तब छोटका भइवा झुके लगल तो बड़का से कहलक कि एगो खिस्सा कहऽ। बड़का पूछलक कि अप्पन बीतल कहिअउ कि दोसर के । छोटका कहलक कि पहिले अपने बीतल कहऽ । ऊ कहलक कि अप्पन बाबूजी हलथुन से रूआ के घोड़ा पर चलऽ हलथुन । दोसर राज में सादी करकथुन, तहईं हमनी के जनम भेल। तूं माय के पेट में हले, तो ओकरा रोसगद्दी कराके ले अलथुन आउ तोर जनम नदी किनारे भेलउ । ऊ डागरिन आने गेलथुन से ओनही रह गेलथुन । एगो नावओला अलउ से मइया खाय ला माँगे गेल, तो ओकर बात सुन के ऊ नउवे पर ओकरा चढ़ा के लेके चल गेल । तऽ पीछे में अहीर के गाय रोज आन के दूध पीया जाउ। एक दिन अहीर हमनी के आन के अप्पन घर लिया गेल । उहईं हमनी पोसयली-पलयली। अब ओकरा कमा के रोपेया भेजहीं।

ई सब बात सुन के भीतरे बइठल राजा के बेटिया रोवे लगल । मल्लाह आन के ओकर रोवाई सुनलक आउ राजा हीं जाके कहलक कि हमर नाव में बइठल अउरतिया रोवे लगल हे । मल्लाह राजा भिरू लुतरी लगौलक कि न जानी पहरदरवन ओकरा का कहलन? ऊ स्त्री पतिव्रता हल । ऊ आज तक केकरो साथ कोई लाग न कयलक हे। राजा लड़कवन के बोलौलन आउ पूछलन तो लड़कवन कहलन कि हमनी ओकरा से कुच्छो न कहली हे। हमनी अपने खाली खिस्सा कहइत हली । ऊ खिस्सा सुनके ऊ रोवे लगलन। राजा कहलन कि कउन खिस्सा कहले हें? ओके फिनो कहऽ। बड़का लड़कवा सब पहिला बात कह सुनौलक। ई सब जान के राजा समझ गेलन कि ई हमरे लड़कन हे। मल्लहवन ओके ठगले भगलन हे। से ऊ मल्लहवन के गड़हारा भरा देलन, आउ अप्पन अउरत के घरे ले अयलन। लड़कन के भी चले कहलन बाकि ओहनी घरे न गेलन । कहलन कि हमरा जे पोसलक हे, ओकरा पहिले बोला लावऽ। राजा अहिरा के बोलौलक । लड़कवन कहलक कि उनका हमनी के पोसाई के इनाम दे दऽ। राजा अहिरा के एगो मौजे लिख देलन। बाद में दूनो लड़कन माय के साथे राजा हीं रहे लगलन । अहिरा भी खुसी-खुसी घरे जाके रहे लगल ।

Once, a washerman and a blacksmith had a fight. After the fight, both of them went to King Biru to resolve the matter. The king asked the reason for the quarrel, and the washerman claimed that he knew more than the blacksmith. The blacksmith countered that he was more knowledgeable than the washerman. The king then asked both to demonstrate their skills. The blacksmith asked for a one mana iron, and the washerman asked for a one mana straw. They were given eight days to showcase their abilities.

The blacksmith made a fish, while the washerman made a horse. The washerman crafted the horse so well that it could fly in the air. He created three parts for it: the first made it fly, the second made it stop when commanded, and the third made it land.

With their creations, both went to the king's court. The blacksmith requested for a one mana iron. When the one mana iron was presented, he released the fish, which then devoured the entire offering. The washerman then summoned his horse, but no one was ready to ride it. So, the king's son volunteered to ride the horse. The washerman explained all the parts of the horse to him. After this, the king ordered both of them to be handcuffed and imprisoned until his son returned.

The king’s son flew away on the horse and traveled to another kingdom. Along the way, he spotted a princess and was enchanted by her beauty. He told his nurse to inform his father to call for the traveler. The nurse reported to the king, who then ordered the soldiers to capture the traveler. When questioned by the king, the prince revealed that he was not yet married, so the king arranged for his daughter to marry the traveler. The prince stayed there.

A few years later, they had a son. Afterward, when the queen became pregnant again, the king's son asked for a feast to be prepared. The feast took place, and all three rode on the horse to the riverbank. The queen began to experience discomfort. When the horse landed, the queen gave birth to another son right there. The king went off riding and began to blaze a trail in his kingdom, leading to a fire catching the horse while crossing the river. Once the horse burned, it became difficult for the queen to go back to her place. Thus, she could not stay and returned home. The washerman and blacksmith were left behind.

As the eldest son began to cry from hunger at the riverbank, his mother suggested that a boat was coming; they should ask for food. The boatman arrived, but when they requested food, he only took the king's children on his boat. After that, the two boys remained hungry and crying. Every day, a cow belonging to a herdsman would come and stand there, allowing the boys to drink its milk. This continued until one day, the herdsman wondered why the cow wasn't giving milk in the evening. So, he followed it one day and saw the boys drinking the milk. The herdsman brought the boys home and began to feed and care for them properly.

As they grew up, the two brothers said that they wanted to go look for work. The herdsman didn’t allow them to leave, saying they had grown strong and should stay home. Nevertheless, one day, they set off from there and ventured into the kingdom of their father, unknowingly asking for work to earn a living. They began to work for the king.

One day, the king was performing a worship ceremony for God. The king sent invitations to everyone, including the boatmen from the village. The two boys were assigned to guard the boat. The boatmen went to listen to the king's sermon while the king's children remained on the boat. They didn’t realize that someone else was there. Then the younger brother began to speak, requesting the older brother to tell a story. The older one asked if he should share his own past or someone else’s. The younger brother insisted he start with his own.

The older one recounted that their father was once riding the horse in another kingdom, where they were born. He mentioned that when they were in their mother’s womb, the horse had taken the mother to give birth by the river. Afterward, the cow would come daily to provide milk for them. One day, the herdsman had mistakenly taken them home, where they were raised. Now, they planned to earn a living and send some money back home.

Upon hearing all this, the princess in the boat began to cry. The boatman heard her and went to the king to report that the women in his boat were crying. The boatman was bewildered about what the lady had said. The woman was faithful and had never been unfaithful to anyone. When the king called the children and questioned them, the children stated they hadn’t said anything other than telling stories, which made her cry. The king demanded to know what story they had told. After hearing the whole tale, he realized they were indeed his children. The boatmen had tricked them. In rage, he imprisoned the boatmen and took his wife home. The boys were told to return too, but they did not go home immediately. The king ordered the herdsman to be summoned, and the children requested him to be rewarded for raising them. The king granted the herdsman a piece of land. Eventually, the two boys stayed with their mother in the kingdom, and the herdsman returned happily to his home.
