एगो बाबा जी हलन। ऊ बड़ी गोल-गोल बात बतियावऽ हलन। उनकर ई खूबी हल, कि ऊ कोय के भी पुछला पर इया कोय काम अड़ैला पर खूब लम्बा-चौड़ा बात बतियावऽ हलन, बाकि करऽ कुच्छो न हलन। उनकर ई आदत से भला आदमी के बड़ी परेशानी होवऽ हल।

एक तुरी ऊ जंगल से चलल आ रहलन हल, कि उनका बीच राह में पड़ल एगो शंख मिलल। ऊ शंख के उठा के ले ले अयलन। घरे आके ओकरा धो-धा के ऊ पहले ओकर पूजा कयलन, फिनू ओकरा फूँकलन। ओकरा में से अवाज आयल ''सुखी रहऽ बचवा! जे मन चाहऽ हवऽ से माँगऽ।''

बाबा जी के ऊ घरी बड़ी भूख लगल हल। ऊ शंख के परनाम कहलन, आउर कहलन - ''हमरा बड़ी भूख लगल हे। से हमरा खूब बढ़िया भोजन करावऽ।'' उनकर प्रार्थना सुन ऊ शंख बजलक- ''लड्डु खाऽ! पूड़ी खाऽ! इमरिती खाऽ! बर्फी खाऽ! पेड़ा खाऽ!'' बाजा ती खुस होके कहलन- ''बस, बस! पहले इतने दे दऽ।'' ऊ आस जोहइत में बइठल रहल, बाकि कुच्छो न आयल। बाद में ऊ जब भी कुछ मँगलन, ऊ शंख बार-बार ओयसने देवे के खूब लम्बा-चौड़ा हाँक देत, बाकि कभियो कुच्छो देवे नऽ!

बाबा जी समझ गेलन के ऊ शंख उनकरे नियन खाली हाँके ओला ढपोरशंख हे, जो खूब लुभावेओला बात तो कहऽ हे, बाकि कुच्छो करऽ न हे!

Once, there was a sage who spoke in roundabout ways. His unique trait was that he would engage in long and elaborate discussions whenever he was asked something, or if any work needed to be done, but he never really did anything. This habit of his caused a lot of trouble for good people.

One day, while he was walking through the forest, he came across a conch shell on the path. He picked it up and took it home. After cleaning it thoroughly, he first worshipped it and then blew into it. A voice came from the shell saying, "Stay happy, child! Ask for whatever you wish!"

At that moment, the sage was very hungry. He prayed to the conch, saying, "I am very hungry. Please provide me with some delicious food." Hearing his prayer, the conch replied, "Eat laddoos! Eat puris! Eat imarti! Eat barfi! Eat peda!" The sage, feeling delighted, said, "That's enough for now, just give me that much." He sat there waiting in anticipation, but nothing came. Later, whenever he asked for something, the conch would repeatedly make grand proclamations, but it never actually gave anything!
