एगो सियार हल । ऊ रोज एगो दरिआव में पानी पीये जा हल। ओकरा में एगो घड़ियाल रहऽ हल । रोज-रोज जाय से सियरवा आउ घड़ियलवा में इयारी हो गेल हल। रोज सब एक जगुन जुटथ आउ आपस में बात चीत करथ। कुछ दिन के बाद घड़िअलवा के मन में कपट घुस गेल आउ ऊ चाहलक कि सिअरवा के खा जाऊँ। तऽ एक दिन घड़ियलवा पूछलक कि ''इयार, तूं रोज कहाँ पानी पीये जा हऽ!'' तो सियरवा कहलक कि ''तूं तो रोज देखवे कर हऽ!'' घड़ियलवा कहलक कि ''आजकल इयार, बराबर न देखऽहीवऽ !'' तऽ सियरवा कहलक कि ''हम तो एहीजे पँकड़वा तर रहऽ ही, आउ ओहिजे घटिया पर पानी पीयऽ ही!'' घड़ियलवा सोचलक कि जब ऊ रात में पानी पीये आवे तो पकड़ के खा जाईं।

से एक दिन रात के पाँकड़ के पेड़ के नीचे घात लगवले पानी में पड़ल हल । सियरवा पानी पीये आयल आउ पीये लगल, तब घड़ियलवा सियरवा के गोड़ पकड़ लेलक। सियरवा असमंजस में पड़ गेल। बाकि ऊ सोच के कहलक कि ''इयारए पकड़े ला गोड़ तो पकड़ लेलऽ पाँकड़ के सोर!'' ओकरा बाद घड़ियलवा गोड़ छोड़ के पाँकड़ के सोर पकड़ लेलक। तऽ सियार उहाँ से दूर भाग गेल आउ कहलक कि ''इयार पकड़े ला हलवऽ गोड़, तो पकड़ले हऽ पाँकड़ के सोर!'' तऽ सियरवा से कहकई कि ''ठहर, आगे सिखावऽ हिअउ। से तूं का खा हें आउ कहाँ खा हें?'’ सियरवा कहलक कि ''हम चिरारी पर के मरली मुरदारी खा ही!''

से घड़ियलवा एक दिन नदी के किनारे चिरारी पर जा के मुरदा नियन पड़लहल। सियरवा उहाँ गेल, तो घड़ियलवा के पड़ल देखलक, तऽ कहलक कि आन बेरा आवऽ हली, तो दाँत चिहरले मुरदा देखऽ हली। आज मुँह मुँदले हे। ई सुन के घड़ियलवा मुँह चिहार देलक। सियरा कहलक कि ''इयार, तोर ई करमात हे!'' तऽ घड़ियलवा कहलक कि ''इयार, हम तो तोरा से मजाक करइत हलिवऽ! अच्छा तूं सूतऽ कहाँ हऽ!'' सियरवा कहलक कि ''हमरो कोई ठेकाना हवऽ? बाकि आजकल जाड़ा के दिन-रात में राजा के पोआरा के टाल पर सूतऽ हिवऽ!'' घड़ियलवा नदी किनारे राजा के खरिहान में गेल आउ पोआरा के टाल में घुस गेल।

जब सियरवा उहाँ गेल तऽ कहलक कि ''आज पोआरा के टाल डोलइत नऽ हे!'' ई सुन के घड़ियलवा पोआरा में घुसले-घुसले अप्पन देह डोलवलक, तऽ पोआरा के टाल हिले लगल। सियरवा सोचलक कि घडियलवा एही में हे। से ऊ उहाँ से चल आयल। एक जगुन ऊ देखलक कि एगो लकड़ी एक दने से लहरइत है। ओकरा मुँह से उठा के ऊ लौलक, आउ पोआरा में घुसेड़ देलक। घडियाल राम ओही में जर के भूँसा हो गेलन। दोसर के मारेओला के अपने नास हो जा हे।

Once, there was a jackal. He used to go to drink water from a river every day, where a crocodile also lived. As they met daily, a friendship developed between the jackal and the crocodile, and soon they began to converse. A few days later, the crocodile became crafty and thought to himself that he would eat the jackal. One day, the crocodile asked, "Friend, where do you go every day to drink water?" The jackal replied, "You see it every day!" The crocodile said, "These days, I don't see you the same way!" The jackal replied, "I stay right here near the bank and drink water there!" The crocodile thought that he would catch the jackal and eat him when he came to drink water at night.

So, one night, the crocodile lay in wait under the tree by the bank. When the jackal came to drink, the crocodile grabbed his leg. The jackal was taken aback but thought to himself, "If you can catch my leg, then I'll catch the bank's current!" After that, the crocodile let go of the jackal's leg and seized the bank's current instead. The jackal took the opportunity, ran away, and said, "If you can catch me by the leg, then you've caught the bank's current!" The crocodile then said, "Wait, let me teach you something. What are you eating and where are you eating?" The jackal replied, "I eat the dead animals I find by the riverbank!"

So, one day, the crocodile lay down near the river pretending to be dead. When the jackal came and saw the crocodile lying there, he remarked, "Last time you came here, you were showing your teeth but today you are lying with your mouth closed." Hearing this, the crocodile opened his mouth. The jackal said, "Friend, that’s your trick!" The crocodile replied, "Friend, I was just joking with you! So where are you sleeping these days?" The jackal replied, "Do I have any particular place? But these days, I sleep at the king's granary at night!" The crocodile went to the riverbank and entered the king's granary.

When the jackal went there, he said, "Today the granary is not stirring!" Upon hearing this, the crocodile, while entering the granary, shook his body, causing the granary to shake. The jackal thought that the crocodile was inside. So, he left. After a while, he saw a piece of wood floating. Picking it up, he threw it inside the granary. The crocodile, trapped inside, turned into a heap of straw. Evil befalls those who plot against others.
