एगो राजा हलन । उनकर घर में एगो खुदबुदी चिरईं खोता लगवले हल। ऊ चिरईं एक दिन बहरना में से एगो चित्ती कउड़ी पवलक। तब अप्पन घर में आके बके लगल कि ''जेतना राजा के न धन, ओतना हमरा हे धन!'’ अइसहीं ऊ बकइत हल तब राजा ओकर पकड़वा के ओकर चित्ती कउड़ी छीन लेलन। तब फिन ऊ जा के बके लगल कि ''राजा कंगाल भेल, मोर धन ले गेल।'’ राजा के दया आ गेल तो ऊ कउड़ी के दे देलन।

फिन ऊ चिरई उड़-उड़ के बके लगल कि ''राजा डेरा गेल, मोर धन दे गेल!'' राजा के तब मन बड़ा खिसिया गेल। तब ऊ चिरई के पकड़ के ओकर पाँख-ऊँख नोंच के बनावे ला होयलन, तो बोले लगल ''नोचन-नाचन में अइली गे मइयो!'' जब चिरईं तरसाय लगल तो कहलक ''कतर-कुतर में अयली गे मइयो!'' फिन ओकर कड़ाही में छँउकल गेल तो बोलल ''छनर-मन्नर में अइली गे मइयो!'’ चिरईं कराही में सीझे लगल तो बोलल ''खदर-खुदर में अइली गे मइयो! राजा ओकरा खाय लगलन, तो ऊ बोलल कि ''कर्रर-कुर्रर में अइली गे मइयो!'’ सुबह भेल तो राजा दीसा फीरे गेलन! ओती घड़ी भी चिरई बोलल कि ''बारंग देखन में अइली गे मइयो!'’ एकरा बाद चिरईं उड़ के भाग गेल!
